The labels I used to get for committing to a 40-hour work week were laughable! The fact of the matter is, my role didn't require more than 40 hours once I mastered it. So, I made the decision to ignore culture instead of allowing the influence of other people's opinions to lead me down a path that produced burnout. I promised myself that if my performance slipped, I would adjust to accommodate the additional hours. Well, I didn't have to. I won the work-life balance war and I won at work throughout my career because of the choices I was willing to make. The same is possible for you.
My latest book contains cheat codes, strategies, chapters and a special section "Black Women Deserve Better" dedicated to helping you experience a much needed shift. Enjoy the complimentary resources found here that accompany "Contrary To Culture: A Woman's Cheat Code For Achieving Work-Life Balance And Winning At Work." Remember, it's not enough to advance your career, break glass ceilings and break barriers, you also need breathing room. It's time for you to make choices that are not only in your best interest, but that are also contrary to culture.
